Friend’s Fingers Friday: Birthday Nails!

Thursday was Sandra’s birthday, so of course I did her nails in a celebratory style. We couldn’t find a birthday cake plate in my entire collection, so we went with multi-coloured cupcakes instead. Of course, the day after we painted these, I found my birthday cake plate. Go figure. See all the fabulous colours we used and more pictures after the break.

I have a short little post for you this Monday morning, because I wasn’t feeling well enough last night to finish the stamping on this. Bleh. I do really love it though. I think it’s a great Christmas manicure without being too over the top. It’s subtle, if you can call anything with that much gold glitter “subtle.” Check out what I used after the break.

Just because my nails have been bare for about two weeks doesn’t mean there hasn’t been anything nail polish related happening around here. When Sandra was on her way to my place to get her nails done this time, she was nearly in a car accident. After calming her down, I declared that she needed a glitter-bomb to distract her from being upset. I’m not sure she was sold on the idea, but she picked through my nail polish anyway, and chose something that had been on my wishlist for a while, but was as yet untried. Nail Art: Perigean Tides Day

Perigean Tide Gradient & Stamped Nail Art

 

Early this morning, the moon reached its first perigee for the month, meaning it’s the closest to earth in its orbit. This leads to higher than average tides, and since I was completely stumped for nail art ideas for the week between Halloween and Remembrance Day, I settled on doing tidal based art. Blame my Dad, he’s a huge astronomy nerd. See more pictures and what I used for this look after the break.
