China Glaze - Capacity to See Beyond and No Peeking

I got inspired by a new skin on my phone’s keyboard last week. It’s purple and bright blue, and I love it. The only way it could be better is by changing the blue to a proper teal and giving it some orange accents, but that’s asking too much. And while I didn’t make those executive changes to my manicure, I did enjoy these nails while I was wearing them. Keep reading to see what I used.

Nail Art: Poppies

November 10, 2014 by Lesley 2 Comments

Rememberance Day poppies nail art

I have some nail art in honour of Remembrance Day today, which is tomorrow, November 11th. In Canada, in the month or so leading up to the day, we wear plastic poppies on pins in our jacket lapels, and even after three years living in the US, I can’t get used to the lack of plastic poppies around. I actually considered asking my Mom to grab one for me and send it to me in my Christmas package, so I’ll have one next year, but it might be weird. Of course, that’s not even considering that the temperature here in California is way too high to be wearing jackets with lapels in which to stick a poppy on a pin. I’ll have to content myself with poppies on my nails, I guess. See more pictures after the break.

Nail Art: Perigean Tides Day

Perigean Tide Gradient & Stamped Nail Art

Early this morning, the moon reached its first perigee for the month, meaning it’s the closest to earth in its orbit. This leads to higher than average tides, and since I was completely stumped for nail art ideas for the week between Halloween and Remembrance Day, I settled on doing tidal based art. Blame my Dad, he’s a huge astronomy nerd. See more pictures and what I used for this look after the break.
