Just because my nails have been bare for about two weeks doesn’t mean there hasn’t been anything nail polish related happening around here. When Sandra was on her way to my place to get her nails done this time, she was nearly in a car accident. After calming her down, I declared that she needed a glitter-bomb to distract her from being upset. I’m not sure she was sold on the idea, but she picked through my nail polish anyway, and chose something that had been on my wishlist for a while, but was as yet untried. Find out what we played with after the break.
KBShimmer – Toast-ess With The Mostest is a clear glitter topper with pink, gold, and silver circle and hex glitters in a wide array of sizes. This polish benefits from the dab and spread method to get an even coverage, with just a few placed glitters to fill in small empty spots. Despite the fact that I haven’t used it before now, I basically want to put it over every polish in my possession. Those giant circle glitters get me every time, and the colours in this one are just so great. Two really easy coats of Essie – Take it Outside made a lovely neutral base for it.
While wearing this one, Sandra had a waitress absolutely lose it over her nails. Sandra was pretty sure the waitress fell in love on the spot. I wasn’t there, but it sounded like the reception was pretty positive. ;)
As with most glitter of this sort, we put more top coat on than base polishes to smooth things out. This got two coats of Poshe – Fast Drying Basecoat and a coat of Poshe – Super-fast Drying Topcoat to seal things in, with the directions that another coat of top coat would probably help if she needed to calm down anything that my glitter food combo missed. I also instructed her to take it off as soon as she started picking at the glitters, since I do that when the glitter starts coming loose, and I know it’s terrible for my nails.
This one certainly isn’t as intricate as I often do, with no stamping or brush work, but Sandra quite enjoyed it, and obviously so did the people who saw it. How do you like it? What’s your favorite type of glitter topper? Do you like giant circles like me, or are you more the subtle shimmer topper type?
This is really pretty!!!!!!
So glad Sandra wasn’t hurt! Hope the amazing nails made her feel better!
