I have a short little post for you this Monday morning, because I wasn’t feeling well enough last night to finish the stamping on this. Bleh. I do really love it though. I think it’s a great Christmas manicure without being too over the top. It’s subtle, if you can call anything with that much gold glitter “subtle.” Check out what I used after the break.
This is three coats each of Polished by KPT – Wreath for the Stars on my index and little fingers and il etait un vernis – Live, Love, Laugh on the middle and ring fingers. Wreath for the Stars is a blackened green subtle multichrome with shifts to blue and purple (and sometimes I can see a little bit of red/pink too), and it is absolutely camera shy. What I see in person most of the time is closer to the green around the highlight in the picture above. It is dark and vampy and green, so it’s pretty high up there in my books. I am loving it, and it was a lovely introduction to a new to me brand.
Live, Love, Laugh is a perfect, crazy gold glitter bomb with gold and coppery pink glitters and a nice bit of holo tossed in for perfection. I’m sure I’m going to spend an hour getting it off the four fingers I have it on, but it is so lovely, I don’t mind if I’m wearing gold glitter for a month afterwards. It dries to a textured finish, and I contemplated leaving it without topcoat, but I changed my mind and what you see has one thickish coat of NYC – Grand Central Station over all nails (thinner on the green). There’s still a little bit of texture to the glitter, but it’s not jagged or rough, so I am tolerating it very well. I’m sure it’ll smooth out completely once I get the stamping and extra top coat on it.
I love this manicure, even if it’s not as complete as I originally planned. I am still catching myself staring at my nails, and turning them this way and that in the light to try to catch the hidden bits of multichrome in the green and the pink and rainbow sparkle in the gold. For someone who is not a big Christmas decorator, I am very fond of the Christmas vibe I can see in this one. What do you think? What are your favorite holiday nail colours and styles?
