L'Oreal - New Money, 3 coats
L’Oreal – New Money, 3 coats

Hi! You know, it’s been so long since I blogged that I have no idea what I’m doing anymore. I hope you’ll bear with me as I get used to it again. This isn’t a fancy post or anything, just a nail of the day, and I’ll probably do some more of them as I get used to blogging again, but it’s good to be back, if a little nerve wracking.

I’ve been working through a bunch of my untried polishes lately, as I have *ahem* rather a lot. I’m pretty sure I picked this one up on clearance early this summer, but I can’t remember. This is three coats of L’Oreal – New Money, and the brush was cut very badly. If I hadn’t been dealing with an angled brush shape, I might have been able to get away with two. I’ll have to trim the brush before I use it next time. A friend of mine also pointed out on instagram that she’s found L’Oreal brushes to be pretty poorly cut in general, so next time I’ll be looking at the brush before I buy, for sure.

Aside from the brush quality, I found the polish did apply reasonably easily, and dried pretty quickly. It wasn’t difficult to get an even creme finish, and it cleaned up at my cuticles easily with acetone and a brush. What do you think of this sort of colour near Halloween? I thought it was pretty seasonally appropriate, myself.

Lambda 510 thermal polsih with leopard spots

Today I’m showing you the very first thermal polish I’ve ever tried, Polished by KPT – Lambda Max 510. It is a warm-shifting thermally activated nail polish that isĀ  bright lime green when cold, and a silvery olive green when warm. There’s a week scattered holo to add some sparkle, and I was utterly smitten with this manicure. See more pictures and my usual lengthy explanations after the break.

Party Nails with ILNP Mutagen (H) and Cique Colors Mirror, Mirror

Happy New Year, dear reader! I hope your holiday season was relaxing and invigorating and you got everything you wanted, or at least the gift money to get it for yourself! Sandra’s manicure today includes one of the polishes I insisted my husband buy for me (by which I mean I bought it for myself and then let him hold onto it until Christmas morning), and a polish I got earlier in the month that I’ve been meaning to swatch. December had a lot of bare nails for me, so I’m hoping to see a bit more colour on them this month. Can you guess which was which? See if you were right after the break.

notd – Green and Gold Sparkle

notd with il etait un vernis - Live Love Laugh and Polished by KPT - Wreath for the Stars

I have a short little post for you this Monday morning, because I wasn’t feeling well enough last night to finish the stamping on this. Bleh. I do really love it though. I think it’s a great Christmas manicure without being too over the top. It’s subtle, if you can call anything with that much gold glitter “subtle.” Check out what I used after the break.
