justifying all this nail polish
My manicure for the first day of December is a little more subtle than my usual fare, with a beautiful blue crelly glitter, and a holo purple stamped in a swirling wind design. I think it looks like a pretty, stormy snow day, or a good day to curl up in a blanket on the couch with a hot chocolate (or yummy tea), and a movie or a good book. This is the manicure I wore this weekend on my trip to Napa. My husband’s team at work was being well rewarded for hitting a hard deadline, and we got a little getaway. It was a very lovely little trip, and I was very appreciative. Keep reading for more details on the mani.
I’m gonna come right out and say it: I love this manicure. I am so pleased that I have all my swatching done for the next week because it means I can wear this manicure until it chips (and usually I’m itching to take manicures off but figure I need to wear them for a couple days at least to make the effort worth it). I have some nail art in honour of Remembrance Day today, which is tomorrow, November 11th. In Canada, in the month or so leading up to the day, we wear plastic poppies on pins in our jacket lapels, and even after three years living in the US, I can’t get used to the lack of plastic poppies around. I actually considered asking my Mom to grab one for me and send it to me in my Christmas package, so I’ll have one next year, but it might be weird. Of course, that’s not even considering that the temperature here in California is way too high to be wearing jackets with lapels in which to stick a poppy on a pin. I’ll have to content myself with poppies on my nails, I guess. See more pictures after the break.
