justifying all this nail polish
I was going to show some China Glaze today, but then I realized that my hot pink shirt was reflecting in a bunch of the nails, making it look like everything had terrible bald spots at the cuticle. Apparently I need to go buy some more black shirts for blogging in! Conveniently, I had some swatches sitting around waiting for their turn, and I threw them all together for your viewing pleasure. Due to everyone in my house being sick, I don’t have a friend’s manicure this week. Instead, I’ve finished up the two remaining swatched from Wednesday’s Julep haul for Marjorie and Shailene. I also have a handy trick for dealing with all those tipsy Julep bottles you have lying around. Find out how I manage them after the jump.
As a former art school student, when I saw the Colorful Palette Artist’s Collection from the Salon line of Bonita Colors, I had to grab a handful to add to my collection. The Colorful Palette Artist’s Collection consists of eight shades named after historical artists or their well known work. I have four from the collection, and as soon as I can get back to a Rite-Aid, I plan on picking up another one or two. I found the formula on these somewhat variable, but nothing too unacceptable.
These shades all dry down to a satiny finish, some with noticeable grit, but a nice application of Seche Vite made things smoother, and I actually preferred all four colours that way. Please forgive the slight square bump on my nails. I obviously didn’t buff down that silk wrap patch as well as I should have. Today I have swatches from the limited edition Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Halloween 2014 collection for you. This collection consists of three cremes in white, orange and black, and a black matte. See larger pictures and my thoughts after the jump.
