Dear reader, if I dazzle you with that silver will you forgive my absence? My cat has been sick, and he takes every priority. It can be hard to give a cat a pill and not dent your manicure too! My Smudge is getting better, and is now on a long-term medication for his stress (which is manifesting physically), so hopefully there will be no more frantic weekend trips to the vet any time soon! I know you’re here for the nails, so check out what I used after the break. :)
My lovely soothing base here is Colores de Carol – Mittens from her 2014 Christmas collection. It’s a wonderful pale grey with subtle linear holographic shimmer, and I didn’t take any notes because I am so out of practice with blogging, but I’m pretty sure this is two simple coats. It might be three. I’ll do a test this afternoon and edit the post with the facts. I think it was just two though.
The formula was lovely, and easy to control, and it’s one of my favorite types of grey. Also, welcome back to my thumb, who suffered an incredible break around the beginning of December, and is finally feeling pretty enough to show her profile once again.
This shiny gloriousness on my middle and ring fingers is one simple coat of Cirque Colors – Mirror, Mirror. A silver plated flakie which may have been blingier than I’d intended for these nails (I was heading to a bank appointment), but I felt fabulous with the shine and flash. I am really happy that I coerced my husband (“this is going to sell out fast, I’m buying them now, okay honey?”) into buying the Cirque Colors set of Mirror, Mirror and Au (23 karat gold topper) for me for Christmas. I feel so special every time I wear them. The shine of Mirror, Mirror is unparalleled.
What do you think? Too flashy for the bank, or precisely sedate enough? Should I post up pictures of my kitties (you can see so many if you follow me on Instagram)? Have you ever wanted to paint your pet’s claws? I haven’t ever, but I am sorely tempted at times. XD I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
